Story Circle

The children really settled in today having gotten used to Mike's format. We love the introduction of the story feather that gets passed around between tellers. And the healthy snacks are great.

Hottest day of the year

It was nice to wake up to proper heat today. Everything slows down and there's time to enjoy the garden. We had a new volunteer from Sweden, Maria, who's here for a two months internship at Sussex University. Jody came back as well and brought her younger brother Harry. He showed us how to start a fire with a magnifying glass.
We all did some weeding and transplanting. We also got the top bar bee hive ready for a bee swarm by installing bars with bees wax. The garden it's abundant with wild flowers now so they'll find a good home.

Young helpers

We were lucky to have Jodie from BHASVIC volunteering today. She's doing her Duke of Edinburgh and will be with us once a week.
We also had Brook, Elen and Norma helping with planting onions and doing other jobs around the garden. For break time, Elen made us a nice salad using her own recipe with Fennel and raw onion. Very yumm
