Bevendean Community Garden Continuous Harvest

Hi everyone,

With all the rain this spring (our water butts are full - that's 2,000l.) and a little heat in the past month, things have been growing very well in the garden. Salads, garlic, onions and potatoes are already a success, whilst peas, courgettes and pumpkins are establishing nicely.

We have began lifting onions, garlic and some potatoes over the past week and it would be great if you could join us and reap the rewards of the fantastic work that has gone in this year.

Certain crops really are plentiful (especially salads and herbs) and if you have taken the pain to join us in the past you really are invited to come and help yourself to some of it. Most of the salads are pick and grow (this means that you just pick the large leaves on the outside, and leave the small ones on the inside to grow) and they are a real treat.

If you feel uneasy or unsure about what can be picked and in what quantity, the best thing to do is to join us on Sunday afternoon and ask around for advice.

see you all soon.
