Response to comments

We are very excited at having received comments about the project, both via this blog and by people approaching us in other ways. Whilst most of the feedback we have received so far has been extremely positive and encouraging, we have also been approached by some members of the community expressing some reasonable concerns. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure the residents of the houses adjacent to the garden that their opinions are extremely valuable to us and have welcomed their involvement so far.The public consultation meeting on Sunday will be the opportunity for those who have not come forward yet to come and exchange views on what should (and should not) happen to the garden.
It is clear that the word has spread around the community that food will be grown on site. We are very happy about this as it bodes well for future community involvement. For this project to succeed, everyone's participation will be paramount.
You may contact us either by posting a comment responding to one of the posts on this blog or by emailing us at
We look forward to meeting you all on Sunday the 28th of March at the Church Hall on Norwich Drive from 2 to 3.30pm and have no doubt that by then, you will be as excited as we are about the prospects the garden offers the community.

  1. I have been talking to other residents of houses adjacent to the garden and those I have spoken to have all been wondering, who is Harry?? The person you have mentioned as being a resident.

Where the plan is under the 'Ideas in the air' it does not match what you are doing behind our homes, the space is getting bigger and was only meant to go behind 2 and a half bungalow gardens and now has gone further.

I and a few others are comming to the meeting, but incase it gets too busy and questions are flying all over the place, could you please answer what I have asked here.

    Thank you

    Dear Neighbour,
Harry is a resident whose garden is directly adjacent to the project and got involved by ringing us after receiving the letter we sent you in February. However, it would not be appropriate for me to give you his address here. He will attend the meeting on Sunday and I will ask him if he wants to talk to you.
To answer your question about the plot size; we have not cleared anything which was not on the map. We can have further discussions about this on Sunday and have a look at the map so that it is clearer where the boundaries are. We will also take people for a site visit after the meeting which should give everyone an opportunity to see for themselves and have their say.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

  3. Ok I live right where the garden is being built and have lived here for 25 years that is why I was puzzled but fair enough.

Look forward to the meeting sunday.
